Meet your Tutor

Dr. Vivien Rolfe

Researcher

Dr Vivien Rolfe is a respected herbal expert, researcher, and educator whose work is rooted in both scientific enquiry and a deep connection to nature. With more than 60 scientific publications spanning health and plant medicine, she brings academic depth to the study of herbs, wellbeing, and evidence-based practice.

Viv is Academic Co-Director at the National Centre for Integrative Medicine (NCIM) where she teaches professional groups research methods and business development at master’s-level. Alongside her academic work, she runs three small businesses of her own – Curiosity Research, Wayside Herbal Tea and a health coaching practice - giving her hands-on experience in food and health entrepreneurship.

Viv is an experienced educator and is a National Teaching Fellow which is an award for outstanding teaching in Higher Education. Her teaching style is clear and engaging, and her on-line courses encourage learning through listening, thinking and doing. As well as providing visually engaging course materials, she encourages learners to think deeply about concepts so they can grow with confidence and take the transformational steps that are important to them.

Her qualifications include a PhD in Gut Physiology, a Foundation in Herbalism, a Diploma in Health Coaching, and an MBA. It’s a crazy combination but it reflects Viv’s passion for learning!
